SCARA COMMITTEE NEEDS NEW MEMBERS

There is not really a huge amount of work involved in keeping SCARA ticking along - as long as there people there to do that work.  About one hour a month would be sufficient for you to join our committee meetings simply to bring your local knowledge and input into the local matters which we discuss. Another hour a month would be sufficient for you to look up and report back some relevant information and possibly reply to some query received from a member.  For some time now we have been struggling along with a maximum of four persons  which is simply not enough to ensure that regular meetings are set up, members' emails and phone calls are answered and relevant action taken, and to write up and publish a regular Newsletter and take on specific issues such as

 the prohibition of pavement parking,

 litter in the Avenues,

 new fire alarm regulations,

traffic regulation especially around the school

Since the outbreak of the pandemic interest in SCARA has declined greatly which is quite ironic because it is one local activity which, by virtue of emails, website and zoom SCARA is one area of activity which is capable of being fully operative despite covid.

If you would like to see SCARA continue in existence please consider contacting the committee at info@scara.co.uk just to let us know that you think SCARA should continue and, optionally, to let us know what local matters we should consider.

Note - We have not in fact had a proper Annual General Meeting since the very successful meeting of 14th May 2019 due, of course, the arrival of Covid19. This, however, need not prevent you from contacting the SCARA committee and your neighbours through this website and you are invited to send us any information or views or other material which you think might be of interest to your neighbours or might help to bolster the spirit of the SCARA community. Old photographs taken in or around the Avenues might well be worth recording on this website. Please contact us by email to info@scara.co.uk

And, btw, our meetings are nothing like the one you can watch via the link below:
